On a different topic, my vote for the next lib from these guys is woodwinds. The ability to change techniques via the method described above would be great! They are badly neglected in the sample world and I think Alex, David et al would make a good job of this. Is that relevant at all? Loving the sound of the samples but a little confused over the redesigned use of controllers. Also, if I click on the legato on / off selector, I see an option for 'midi learn'. For arco, I see there is a range of values which I don't quite understand.
If you do not have Kontakt Player, you can download it for free here. Will this work in the free Kontakt Player Yes Lost Piano works on the free Kontakt Player, version 6.2.2 or higher. How do I assign an unused controller to say switch leg on and off or to switch from low to high vib position? I've tried assigning key switch to cc15 and assigning the values for each requirement which I assume are the values and ranges given in the user manual. bass brass & winds keys organ pad sequence sound effects strings synth lead. A cinematic instrumental hip-hop track using a couple of the lo-fi piano presets and 2 pitch-shifted violas.
But I can't fathom out how to get it to work! I've found the keyswitch tool that allows me to assign velocity x-fade to cc1 and that works ok. This is an essential feature for notation users and thankfully, CS2 preserves this capability. Thanks for the help. The original CS allowed me to use a controller of my choice to change articulations and other tasks such as switching chord-mode on and off for divisi purposes. The article/notation is buried in the Sonar X2 online site at Cakewalk - the article is here: Should someone have the same issue, I would recommend reading all the articles that Sonar has online it's a great resource. After thinking about it, I realized it had to be a midi control.
How I noticed this was I happened to have been using the mod wheel while recording Cinematic Strings, but I noticed when I paused or hit STOP, the mod wheel went back to zero. This is especially common in the newer VSTs like East West's Hollywood Strings (PLAY mechanism for sound), and KONTAKT. What that does is turns ALL controllers volume to ZERO directly at the synth. Somehow, someway, that got turned on while upgrading. it was! There is a section in MIDI in the Preference section that says to "ZERO OUT CONTROLLERS AT STOP" (or something similar to that). with some inability to sleep (yes, it worried me), I began thinking: could it simply be a controller within Sonar? Well. They were not, however, able to yet identify the issue. I contacted Cinematic Strings, and they have some great support there. I've tried to downgrade to X1c but at this point my registries must have been changed for good and I really don't want to whipe Sonar from my machine and start over.Īny ideas anyone? I can still do my work, but it's incredibly annoying having to reset the engine in Kontakt some 200 times a day!!!! And in the end the fault, according to them, sits with Cakewalk. I have already spend a week with Native Instruments support on the phone and they even took a log of my machine system configuarion (quite a clever tool those guys have actually).
When I press "Stop" on X1 either on the screen or via the MIDI controller, Kontakt 5 stops all sounds and I'm forced to hit the Kontakt "reset audio engine", shown as a big exclamation mark.
I've installed the X1d patch on my Sonar Expanded and ever since I have issues on Kontakt 5.īasically all instruments are loaded and I can play along (reharsing a take) or record on Sonar. Kontakt 5 Audio Engine Reset every time I press "Stop" on Sonar.
